On May 18-19 2016 the V Federal Congress on e-democracy took place in Moscow. It was supported by the Federation Council, the State Duma, the Chamber of Commerce of the Russian Federation, the Organization of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) and the National Union of non-profit organizations.
The key issues of the implementation of the state policy in the sphere of development of information society and e-democracy were discussed. Congress participants noted that urgent measures to optimize budget spending and a significant increase in the effectiveness of government programs and projects, with the active use of information technologies are required in the current economic situation caused by low oil prices and the limited financial and other resources. Quantity must be converted into quality.
The Congress discussed the development and introduction of anti-crisis measures, both based on the latest technologies, and on the identification and replication of best practices to create e-democracy tools at the federal, regional and local levels.
In addition, the SIMEX platform representative Sergey Semenov made the presentation: "The collective activity platforms as a modern tool of e-democracy".
